Prison Break

As you all know by now, PB did not air last night. I did manage to find a few spoliers floating around for some upcoming episodes.
SPOILERS FOR SEASON 3, EPISODE 13 “THE ART OF THE DEAL”

NEW! Spoilers from an extra on set: “As some of you know, I recently had the opportunity to work as an extra on the set of Prison Break. I was involved with Days 3 and 4 of filming Episode 13. Keep in mind that the scenes are not necessarily filmed in order so I do not not know what necessarily leads up to the following events. Also keep in mind that sometimes scenes are cut and scripts are changed so please don’t take this as written in stone: Michael, Mahone, Whistler, McGrady escape. Bellick kills someone in a fight.

Bellick gives Sammie a chicken foot. Sammie is killed when the escape tunnel collapses on him. I think this was a set up. Lechero is shot and killed in SONA. Sucre is badly beaten and gets thrown into SONA. (I think for smuggling drugs) T-Bag takes over SONA. He finds money buried under SONA and distributes some to the inmates to gain their trust but keeps most for himself. Michael sets up the hostage exchange site to be a museum with a metal detector. (LJ for Whistler) The exchange is made. Gunfire goes off outside the museum and Sofia is shot in the crossfire. (I do not know if she dies) Whistler is taken by the Company. Source: DarkUFO

We open with Sammy whining to Lechero about that guy Michael killed in the first few episodes in the chicken foot fight. Lechero tells Sammy to stop moaning. T-Bag, meanwhile, who’s been listening to the coversation, goes to the coutyard and catches the attention of his new best friend: Whistler.

Mahone’s got mail! It’s a picture of his son. Dear Lord, Mahone’s brought a tear to my eye two episodes in a row. Damn him!

Michael’s brushing off McGrady’s questions about the failed helicopter escape in the courtyard when Whistler comes up to tell Michael that T-Bag is now on the break-out train. HAHA. Michael, who to his credit does not suddenly scream “You’ve got to be kidding me!”, simply stares into the distance while Mahone approaches and asks about the plan.

T-Bag is following the boys into the tunnel, shouting “I’m coming with you!” He sounds like a kid in the fifth grade trying to tag along with the popular crowd. Michael and Lechero manage to delegate look-out duty to T-Bag, who glares petulantly.

Inside the tunnel, Michael tells Lechero to hook them up with a saw so they can create the right support for the hole they’re digging. Is it wrong of me to hope that digging will result in sweatiness that will cause the cute boys in Sona to take off their shirts, lest they overheat? I mean, seriously, is that wrong?

Lechero sends T-Bag to fetch some tools, because Lechero has absolutely no prior escape experience with T-Bag and is unaware that he’ll turn on you at the drop of a hat. When T-Bag leaves Sammy sneaks up on Lechero and points a gun to his head. Oy, this can’t end well.

Sammy’s all “this is my room now!” (I’m not paraphrasing, that’s a direct quote) and insists that he’s in charge of Sona now. Sammy unwisely (because it’s going to come back and bite him in the ass) lets Lechero leave.

Back in the tunnel, the boys are gathering wood. Sammy is surveying his new kingdom in the courtyard of Sona, announcing his coup, and offering a case of rum to the first prisoner who brings him Michael. Do you think if I offered someone a case of rum they would bring me Wentworth? Cause I’ll do it.

Lincoln’s searching for Whistler’s alias (Gary Miller) on the net. Sucre’s setting up a meeting for Lincoln. He also says that he’s off to meet with Susan.

T-Bag purposes two options to Lechero: (1) let Sammy in on the escape, which, if I was Sammy, I would refuse considering what happened to most of the Fox River 8, or (2) get Sammy killed. T-Bag offers to outsource the killing.

T-Bag approaches Bellick and indicates that there’s an escape plan in the works. But Bellick can only jump onboard if he uses those sneaky fight moves from his last fight (drugging his opponent and then knocking them out) on Sammy. They’re just playing fast and loose with invitations to the break out, aren’t they? Don’t these people know that the more people who are in on a secret, the less likely it is to remain secret. That’s why whenever I let people in on secrets, I end up killing them. Um….I probably shouldn’t have admitted that on the internet, huh?.

Lincoln’s out buying supplies with Sofia. She is….again, for the 10 millionth time….questioning whether Linc will screw over Whistler. Alright, Sofia, we get it! Ok? We freaking get it. You love Whistler, but you’re afraid to trust him. WE GET IT. Enough.

Susan’s sending an email to someone named Edward Guthrie. And she’s sending it as Gary Miller. Well, since that’s the same name that Whistler’s using, I’m guessing he’s in pretty tight with Susan and, likely, the Company. Sucre enters the bar and approaches her. Sucre doesn’t really appreciate Susan’s “Sucre means sugar” joke. He tells her that Linc knows that LJ is in danger and will play by the book. She hands him a cashier’s check for $25,000 and walks out. A cashier’s check sounds fishy.

In the tunnel the boys are learning the fine art of bracing and Michael’s showing why he’s the one with the $100,000 education by using a small metal plug to basically brace the whole damn tunnel. Whistler admits that he was supposed to kill Michael otherwise the Company would hurt his family. What family? Mahone, meanwhile, wonders where Lechero is.

In the halls, T-Bag assures Lechero that everything is “set”. Bellick proves that he really is stupider than he looks and challenges Sammy to a fight.

Global TV has just informed me that Robert Knepper draws a cartoon for his 4 year old son every day. Awe. That’s cute.

Bellick’s in his cell, informing T-Bag that he’s got no more acetone left to drug Sammy with. T-Bag doesn’t give a crap; he tells Bellick he’s got to continue with the fight.

Linc’s arriving for the meeting Sucre set up for him. Linc (who’s taken Sofia along) offers the mysterious guy money in exchange for an unknown product. We quickly learn that Linc’s shopping for a bomb, along with a remote trigger.

In the tunnel, the boys are still wondering where Lechero and the saw are. Whistler starts telling his (potentially fake) story: one day Susan approached him to do charters for her employers. Mahone delivers the funniest line I’ve ever heard from him. Here’s how it goes:

Mahone: Quit embarrassing yourself.
Whistler: What?
Mahone: We’re not two chicks at a bar you’re trying to pick up. (to Michael) Unless you need to hear this?
Michael: No.
Mahone: (to Whistler): You work for the Company. And when you break out of here you’re going to do whatever the Company asks you to do.

Ha! The delivery of that was spot-on!

In the tunnel, Michael asks for Whistler’s book. He asks about the various words written in the book and Whistler has an answer for everything.

Now Sammy’s meditating in preparation for the fight. Ha! He’s all very Zen about the fighting and the killing, isn’t he? He’s also very bare-chested, having decided to forgo a shirt in anticipation of the headache that he’ll get trying to wash Bellick’s blood out of it. Bellick, meanwhile, is frantically searching for any sort of chemical with which to drug Sammy. Unfortunately, he gets dragged off to the fight by one of Sammy’s new minions.

T-Bag finds Lechero hiding out. T-Bag wants Lechero to stop playing hide and seek because he’s afraid that if Lechero doesn’t go to Michael, Michael will come looking for Lechero and will get captured by Sammy, thereby threatening the escape plan.

In the courtyard, Bellick and Sammy square off.

Back inside, Mahone, Whistler and Michael exit the tunnel in search of tools.

We go back and forth between the boys leaving the tunnels and the fight. Unfortunately for the boys, they encounter Sammy’s minions and have to run back to the tunnel. Then they get into a fight of their own which involves a machete. A machete! That’s awesome. Michael and Mahone make it back into the tunnel while Whistler gets left outside.

Speaking of outside, Bellick’s getting choked by Sammy when he catches a lucky break: one of the minions comes to get Sammy, informing him that Michael’s been found. Sammy demands the combination to the tunnel from Whistler. Mahone won’t let Michael go out to save Whistler.

Back at the hotel, Sucre tells Linc about his meeting with Susan, and Linc asks him to set up another meeting with her.

In the tunnel, Mahone’s creating make-shift tools out of rebar buried in the concrete. In the courtyard, Sammy confronts Lechero, accusing him of hiding Michael.

In Panama City, Susan’s picking up Sucre in a car. He tells her that Linc bought a gun and he manages to slip the bomb under her car seat. She, meanwhile, tells him that she doesn’t buy his act for a second: she thinks that he and Linc are trying to set her up and threatens Maricruz (she now knows where Maricruz lives since Sucre sent the money from the check to her). Then she spazes out and tells him to go get her some real information.

Sammy now demands the combination from Lechero. Michael opens the door and Lechero is dragged inside. Sammy accuses Lechero of escaping with Michael and it sounds like he’s accusing Lechero of cheating on him. Michael offers Sammy the escape tunnel in exchange for a partnership, but Sammy’s having none of it. As Sammy reaches up into the tunnel we see that Michael has rigged it to collapse on him. When the minions are sufficiently distracted, the boys gain the upper hand.

Michael’s staring at Sammy, likely coming to the realization that he’s deliberately killed someone for the first time. The other boys go to make sure that there isn’t a sinkhole out in no-man’s land. And Lechero shows the rest of the prisoners that there has been a second coup and he’s back in charge.

Bellick insists to T-Bag that he’s in or he’ll blow the escape plan. T-Bag agrees.

Lincoln goes to pick up something and hands a paper bag to Sofia. He tells her “if he doesn’t take you, I will”. She opens the bag to find a little key chain of the Eifel Tower. He’s basically offered to take Sofia to Paris if Whistler doesn’t.

In his cell, Michael reveals that he deliberately set up Sammy to die (which was kind of obvious). McGrady approaches him and offers him all of his money if only Michael will let him in on the escape. Awe. That poor boy. Michael, unfortunately, tells him he wants no part of it.

At home, Sofia’s pinning for Whistler but slowly coming to the realization that she might have a crush on Lincoln. She starts clearing her closet of Whistler’s clothes and finds his bag. A search of it reveals a false bottom and a mysterious case.

Linc’s visiting Michael. He tells him about Whistler’s fake passport. Michael questions Whistler’s real job as Sofia pulls the mysterious case out of the bag.

We have to wait two more weeks for a new episode, folks. I’ll see you back here then….same bat time, same bat channel. Clarissa out.

When we last saw Michael, he was getting carted out of Sona. Lechero looks on worriedly as Michael gets taken away by General Zavala’s men. That’ll teach Lechero not to rely on any one person for a prison-escape plan. You gotta have a plan B, man!

Zavala takes Michael to his office and offers him a drink of water. Huh, this meeting is going better than I thought it would. He hasn’t even pistol-whipped Michael yet. Pistol-whipping is always a sign of bad things to come, so Michael’s day is looking up. Michael denies any involvement in the aborted helicopter escape attempt from earlier that day (or 2 months ago, in our time). Wentworth’s stubble is coming in again. I don’t like the stubble. It looks all weird and sharp. It bugs me.

Zavala quickly loses patience. He drags Michael back into the yard and throws him into the Sona version of solitary confinement: basically a cage wrapped in saran-wrap with the hot Panamanian sun shinning down on it. Michael sweats off about 3 1/2 pounds in two to three minutes. Seriously, PB people, I know that it’s a bother to continuously apply the whole Scofield full-torso tattoo, but do you know how bloody unlikely it is that Michael is wearing long-sleeves in Panama?

Lincoln’s leaving the hospital with Sofia, sporting a clean white bandage on his arm. Sofia can’t stop complaining about how Whistler is a sneaky liar of a boyfriend, but she still wants him out of Sona. Ah yes, the betrayed girlfriend routine. I know this one well. But when I play it, I don’t sound so whiney. She switches gears and thanks Lincoln for saving her ass.

Susan shows up and drags Lincoln away into a waiting car. She tells Sofia to buggar off.

Lang is delivering Mahone back to Sona. He seems strangely accepting of his fate. She presents him with a family heirloom/good luck charm. Awe, this scene brings a little tear to my eye. As Mahone is brought back into the prison, he sees Michael in the box.

Susan brings Lincoln to a small warehouse, where he’s allowed to visit with a bound and gagged LJ. LJ warns Lincoln that he’s always being followed and announces that he was in the room while Sara’s head was being cut off. Holy crap, do you have any idea how much that would traumatize me? I’m talking about years that I would spend rocking in a corner and mumbling nonsensically. LJ’s awfully composed considering what he’s been through. Lincoln promises that he and Michael will save LJ.

Whistler greets Mahone in the Sona courtyard and tells him that the plan is still a go. Whistler also says that they have a way to escape that doesn’t involve Michael. Bellick and T-Bag are strolling together, friendly as you please, discussing Michael’s current situation in the hot cage. Bellick accuses T-Bag of being involved in Michael’s escape plan, but T-Bag denies it.

One of Lechero’s friends comes by and demands that Bellick mop up some vomit. Bellick refuses. Methinks he’ll come to regret that later.

Michael’s hallucinating/sweating in the hot box. Sucre is met by his former business associate (who had him smuggle something into the prison) and agrees to help him again when he’s threatened with a gun. Arriving at work, Sucre offers to bring Michael some water. Michael and Sucre share a touching scene, reminiscent of their old buddy relationship. Michael wants Sucre to run away from the plan.

Down in the tunnel, Whistler and Lechero are attempting to dig up. That plan gets shot to hell when Lechero quickly concludes that they need Michael’s engineering skills.

Zavala offers Michael his assistance and finally finally admits that he’s been working on his escape since the moment he set foot in Sona. Which isn’t really true, but whatever. Zavala removes him from the cage.

Michael tells Zavala all about the Company, Whistler, LJ’s kidnapping….everything. Zavala offers to have his troops find LJ, but tells Michael he doesn’t believe the rest of the story.

Lincoln returns to the hotel and finds Sucre, who quickly admits that he ran drugs (or something) into the prison. Sucre tells Linc that Michael was placed in solitary.

T-Bag, ever the opportunist, starts chatting up Whistler, mentioning that Sammy doesn’t like Lechero’s new choice of friends (namely Michael and Whistler). T-Bag wonders if the world wouldn’t be a better place without Sammy. T-Bag offers to find someone to kill Sammy, but tells Whistler that if he does, he gets to be in the break-out club, Sona chapter. Awe, T-Bag just wants to make more friends. And possibly break out of prison to continue his murder spree.

Lincoln has changed out of his nice, clean, non-sweaty t-shirt into a dark blue, sweat-drenched shirt. Sucre tells him he can’t quit the drug mule job unless Lincoln throws him a few bucks. Lincoln tells him to go shove it up his ass. I bet Sucre’s wishing “why can’t I be teamed up with Michael again….the guy who wouldn’t leave me to drown in a stream….instead of his meany brother?” A Company informative, who’s been spying on Lincoln, calls Susan. I assume the Company will soon bribe Sucre with cash.

Zavala, who has been playing detective, tells Michael that maybe there’s some truth to his crazy tale after all. Zavala insists that Michael give up Whistler’s name in exchange for him finding LJ.

Sofia’s confronting Whistler at the visitor fence. As usual, he’s got an explanation for all of her accusations. Unfortunately, he gets dragged off to Zavala’s office.

Whistler denies Michael’s story when confronted by Zavala. Zavala doesn’t buy Whistler’s denials and insists on the name of the person in charge on the outside. When Whistler refuses to give up anything, a chair is brought into the room. But not just any chair. A torture chair. One that involves a bucket and a garden hose. Pfft, you don’t need the hose to drown someone and provoke them into talking, you just need the bucket. Maybe the hose is for strangling…. Why am I even questioning this? How sick am I?

T-Bag welcomes Mahone back to Sona. T-Bag quickly proposes that Mahone kill Sammy in exchange for a continuous supply of free drugs.

Whistler caves in about two seconds and under barely any torture at all (if you can consider Zavala yelling at him as torture). Wow, Whistler. Way to have a pair. He admits that he’s working with Michael, but denies that anyone else is involved. When he’s brought to Michael, Michael insists that Whistler give up Susan’s name. He even yells. Yelling Michael is always hot. Whistler, bowing to the mighty power of the Scofield yell, which is now apparently as powerful as the Scofield stare, quickly gives up Susan (aka Gretchen).

Susan approaches Sucre at a bar. She offers him $50,000 in exchange for Sucre keeping her updated on Lincoln. Sucre seems to be debating the offer. Sucre! Betraying Lincoln means betraying Michael. Remember that time he wouldn’t let you drown in that stream?! Remember?!

Zavala is asking Whistler for more information about Susan. Michael asks for a phone in order to get more information. He calls Linc to ask for his next meeting with Susan, which is to take place in an hour.

In the Sona courtyard, Sammy digs a mysterious package out of a box of veggies. Bellick, meanwhile, arrives at his cell to find a chicken foot. Apparently one of the other inmates isn’t happy that Bellick didn’t mop up some vomit. Haha, imagine if my boss started utilizing the chicken foot/fight to the death technique to get me and my fellow workers to behave? That would shake up the work environment.

Bellick wants to see Lechero to complain about the challenge, but Sammy dismisses him and announces that the fight will go on. Lechero isn’t pleased that Sammy issued the fight against Bellick and quickly realizes that Sammy is engaging in a power struggle with him for control of the prison.

Zavala gets a call about Susan and goes off to see her. Sucre arrives back at the hotel and….oh, you cute, cute man! Sucre smiles and tells Lincoln that their little set-up (getting Susan to offer Sucre money in exchange for info on Linc) worked. Bless those two. I love them.

Mahone’s going through more withdrawal (seriously, how long does withdrawal last?) and T-Bag arrives with drugs and taunts. Mahone refuses T-Bag’s bait.

Lincoln meets up with Susan and tells her that Whistler will be out by tomorrow. Zavala, meanwhile, arrives with guards and drags Susan away. Lincoln quickly protests that he has nothing to do with this.

Susan is taken to the torture chair and denies any involvement with Whistler. Zavala obviously doesn’t believe her and orders his men to “turn on the hose”.

The men inside the Sona courtyard are cheering for a fight while Bellick looks like he’s trying really hard not to pee his pants inside his cell. He goes outside to meet his fate.

Back in the torture room, Susan refuses to answer Zavala’s questions so he starts dry-drowning her. I just learned about this technique on last week’s episode of Law and Order: SVU. Saran-wrap is placed over her face and Zavala starts pouring water on her face. Outside the room, Whistler and Michael are listening to Gretchen’s torture. Zavala quickly concludes that Susan is a pro at surviving torture and calls the boys into the room.

Michael tells Zavala that Susan visited with Whistler. When Whistler gives her up, Susan says her only job is to look after LJ. She tells his (possibly real, possibly fake) location to Zavala. Michael asks Susan if she killed Sara and clearly doesn’t believe her denials. He chillingly tells her “I’m coming for you”. How does Wentworth Miller do it? How does he even make death threats hot? How?

Back in the courtyard Bellick is getting a beating, but quickly proves he’s not as stupid as he looks by slipping his opponent drugs, disorienting him and kicking his ass. T-Bag looks on in surprise and quickly realizes what Bellick did.

Zavala arrives at LJ’s former hiding place where Susan proceeds to kick his ass, kill the one (only one!) guard that Zavala brings with him, and shoot Zavala. *sigh* Then she calls Lincoln.

Sammy’s got a visitor, who’s obviously trying to get him to overthrow Lechero. The visitor wants Sammy to open the mysterious package from earlier.

Another army guy arrives to tell Michael and Whistler that Zavala was found dead. Michael doesn’t even flinch when he hears the news. I bet he has the best poker face in the world.

Michael asks Lechero for use of his phone and Lechero gives it up. Michael calls Linc, who’s not impressed that Michael planned to take out Susan without telling him.

Michael confronts Whistler and surmises that he only gave up Susan in order to get them both back inside Sona. Michael tells Whistler that the escape plan is going ahead, but Whistler better watch his back.

Sammy, meanwhile, opens up the mysterious package and finds a gun inside. He gets an evil little glint in his eye.

Not bad, not bad. With the strike still continuing, it’s nearly a miracle that we’ve got 4 more new episodes of the show to look forward to. Tune in next week for another new episode and another new recap. Until then….

I am sorry I was not here to post a recap of the first episode last week. I had a case of pneumonia. I am feeling better now. I will post 2 seperate posts: one for last week’s recap and one for last night. I have a whole bunch of stuff to share about PB and I will be doing that over the course of this week.

Spoilers for the episode airing on Monday, January, have hit the web, which means that viewers now have the chance to find out how things have unfolded since the last aired Prison Break installment.

So, without further ado, here are the spoilers for episode 3.09, “Boxed In.�

According to SpoilerFIX, Michael experiences solitary SONA style after he raises the suspicions of the Panamanian Army. He speaks to the SONA’s new commanding officer with the hopes of talking his way out of solitary confinement.

Meanwhile, Susan B. finds a way to keep Lincoln motivated. She comes face to face with Whistler and Michael, and makes Sucre (Amaury Nolasco) an offer he can’t refuse.

Also, Sucre heads to SONA to make another delivery, while Lang (guest star Barbara Eve Harris) has a parting gift for Mahone.

As for T-Bag, he approaches Whistler (Chris Vance) and makes him an offer. Bellick finds himself in a very sticky situation when he refuses to mop up a mess.

SpoilerFIX is also reporting Panamanian officials torture Whistler and Susan B. in order to get the two talking, and a mystery woman pays a visit to SONA with the aim of talking to Michael.

Now, if you have been diligently following every piece of news about Prison Break, then you would be aware of the spin-off series that the network is reportedly developing. Called Prison Break: Cherry Hill, the series is set in a woman’s prison and revolves around a woman named Molly.

How is the spin-off relevant to “Boxed In?â€? Well, the mystery woman that Michael meets in the episode may very well be Molly. According to E! Online’s Kristin Veich, producers said a new female character will be introduced in the current season’s ninth episode, and that the woman’s name is Molly Leif, an American housewife in her mid-30s who is in the middle of investigating the disappearance of her husband and daughter.

As per the Hollywood Reporter, Molly’s connection to the Lincoln Brothers is rooted in The Company. Apparently, the same organization that framed Michael and Lincoln is responsible for Molly’s family tragedy.
