No PB Last night

by Deana

5558293.jpgAs you all know by now, PB did not air last night. I did manage to find a few spoliers floating around for some upcoming episodes.
SPOILERS FOR SEASON 3, EPISODE 13 “THE ART OF THE DEAL”

NEW! Spoilers from an extra on set: “As some of you know, I recently had the opportunity to work as an extra on the set of Prison Break. I was involved with Days 3 and 4 of filming Episode 13. Keep in mind that the scenes are not necessarily filmed in order so I do not not know what necessarily leads up to the following events. Also keep in mind that sometimes scenes are cut and scripts are changed so please don’t take this as written in stone: Michael, Mahone, Whistler, McGrady escape. Bellick kills someone in a fight.

Bellick gives Sammie a chicken foot. Sammie is killed when the escape tunnel collapses on him. I think this was a set up. Lechero is shot and killed in SONA. Sucre is badly beaten and gets thrown into SONA. (I think for smuggling drugs) T-Bag takes over SONA. He finds money buried under SONA and distributes some to the inmates to gain their trust but keeps most for himself. Michael sets up the hostage exchange site to be a museum with a metal detector. (LJ for Whistler) The exchange is made. Gunfire goes off outside the museum and Sofia is shot in the crossfire. (I do not know if she dies) Whistler is taken by the Company. Source: DarkUFO

Recap for Dirt Nap episode 1/21/2008

by Deana

70087841.jpgWe open with Sammy whining to Lechero about that guy Michael killed in the first few episodes in the chicken foot fight. Lechero tells Sammy to stop moaning. T-Bag, meanwhile, who’s been listening to the coversation, goes to the coutyard and catches the attention of his new best friend: Whistler.

Mahone’s got mail! It’s a picture of his son. Dear Lord, Mahone’s brought a tear to my eye two episodes in a row. Damn him!

Michael’s brushing off McGrady’s questions about the failed helicopter escape in the courtyard when Whistler comes up to tell Michael that T-Bag is now on the break-out train. HAHA. Michael, who to his credit does not suddenly scream “You’ve got to be kidding me!”, simply stares into the distance while Mahone approaches and asks about the plan.

T-Bag is following the boys into the tunnel, shouting “I’m coming with you!” He sounds like a kid in the fifth grade trying to tag along with the popular crowd. Michael and Lechero manage to delegate look-out duty to T-Bag, who glares petulantly.

Inside the tunnel, Michael tells Lechero to hook them up with a saw so they can create the right support for the hole they’re digging. Is it wrong of me to hope that digging will result in sweatiness that will cause the cute boys in Sona to take off their shirts, lest they overheat? I mean, seriously, is that wrong?

Lechero sends T-Bag to fetch some tools, because Lechero has absolutely no prior escape experience with T-Bag and is unaware that he’ll turn on you at the drop of a hat. When T-Bag leaves Sammy sneaks up on Lechero and points a gun to his head. Oy, this can’t end well.

Sammy’s all “this is my room now!” (I’m not paraphrasing, that’s a direct quote) and insists that he’s in charge of Sona now. Sammy unwisely (because it’s going to come back and bite him in the ass) lets Lechero leave.

Back in the tunnel, the boys are gathering wood. Sammy is surveying his new kingdom in the courtyard of Sona, announcing his coup, and offering a case of rum to the first prisoner who brings him Michael. Do you think if I offered someone a case of rum they would bring me Wentworth? Cause I’ll do it.

Lincoln’s searching for Whistler’s alias (Gary Miller) on the net. Sucre’s setting up a meeting for Lincoln. He also says that he’s off to meet with Susan.

T-Bag purposes two options to Lechero: (1) let Sammy in on the escape, which, if I was Sammy, I would refuse considering what happened to most of the Fox River 8, or (2) get Sammy killed. T-Bag offers to outsource the killing.

T-Bag approaches Bellick and indicates that there’s an escape plan in the works. But Bellick can only jump onboard if he uses those sneaky fight moves from his last fight (drugging his opponent and then knocking them out) on Sammy. They’re just playing fast and loose with invitations to the break out, aren’t they? Don’t these people know that the more people who are in on a secret, the less likely it is to remain secret. That’s why whenever I let people in on secrets, I end up killing them. Um….I probably shouldn’t have admitted that on the internet, huh?.

Lincoln’s out buying supplies with Sofia. She is….again, for the 10 millionth time….questioning whether Linc will screw over Whistler. Alright, Sofia, we get it! Ok? We freaking get it. You love Whistler, but you’re afraid to trust him. WE GET IT. Enough.

Susan’s sending an email to someone named Edward Guthrie. And she’s sending it as Gary Miller. Well, since that’s the same name that Whistler’s using, I’m guessing he’s in pretty tight with Susan and, likely, the Company. Sucre enters the bar and approaches her. Sucre doesn’t really appreciate Susan’s “Sucre means sugar” joke. He tells her that Linc knows that LJ is in danger and will play by the book. She hands him a cashier’s check for $25,000 and walks out. A cashier’s check sounds fishy.

In the tunnel the boys are learning the fine art of bracing and Michael’s showing why he’s the one with the $100,000 education by using a small metal plug to basically brace the whole damn tunnel. Whistler admits that he was supposed to kill Michael otherwise the Company would hurt his family. What family? Mahone, meanwhile, wonders where Lechero is.

In the halls, T-Bag assures Lechero that everything is “set”. Bellick proves that he really is stupider than he looks and challenges Sammy to a fight.

Global TV has just informed me that Robert Knepper draws a cartoon for his 4 year old son every day. Awe. That’s cute.

Bellick’s in his cell, informing T-Bag that he’s got no more acetone left to drug Sammy with. T-Bag doesn’t give a crap; he tells Bellick he’s got to continue with the fight.

Linc’s arriving for the meeting Sucre set up for him. Linc (who’s taken Sofia along) offers the mysterious guy money in exchange for an unknown product. We quickly learn that Linc’s shopping for a bomb, along with a remote trigger.

In the tunnel, the boys are still wondering where Lechero and the saw are. Whistler starts telling his (potentially fake) story: one day Susan approached him to do charters for her employers. Mahone delivers the funniest line I’ve ever heard from him. Here’s how it goes:

Mahone: Quit embarrassing yourself.
Whistler: What?
Mahone: We’re not two chicks at a bar you’re trying to pick up. (to Michael) Unless you need to hear this?
Michael: No.
Mahone: (to Whistler): You work for the Company. And when you break out of here you’re going to do whatever the Company asks you to do.

Ha! The delivery of that was spot-on!

Sammy’s shadow-boxing in preparation for his fight.

In the tunnel, Michael asks for Whistler’s book. He asks about the various words written in the book and Whistler has an answer for everything.

Now Sammy’s meditating in preparation for the fight. Ha! He’s all very Zen about the fighting and the killing, isn’t he? He’s also very bare-chested, having decided to forgo a shirt in anticipation of the headache that he’ll get trying to wash Bellick’s blood out of it. Bellick, meanwhile, is frantically searching for any sort of chemical with which to drug Sammy. Unfortunately, he gets dragged off to the fight by one of Sammy’s new minions.

T-Bag finds Lechero hiding out. T-Bag wants Lechero to stop playing hide and seek because he’s afraid that if Lechero doesn’t go to Michael, Michael will come looking for Lechero and will get captured by Sammy, thereby threatening the escape plan.

In the courtyard, Bellick and Sammy square off.

Back inside, Mahone, Whistler and Michael exit the tunnel in search of tools.

We go back and forth between the boys leaving the tunnels and the fight. Unfortunately for the boys, they encounter Sammy’s minions and have to run back to the tunnel. Then they get into a fight of their own which involves a machete. A machete! That’s awesome. Michael and Mahone make it back into the tunnel while Whistler gets left outside.

Speaking of outside, Bellick’s getting choked by Sammy when he catches a lucky break: one of the minions comes to get Sammy, informing him that Michael’s been found. Sammy demands the combination to the tunnel from Whistler. Mahone won’t let Michael go out to save Whistler.

Back at the hotel, Sucre tells Linc about his meeting with Susan, and Linc asks him to set up another meeting with her.

In the tunnel, Mahone’s creating make-shift tools out of rebar buried in the concrete. In the courtyard, Sammy confronts Lechero, accusing him of hiding Michael.

In Panama City, Susan’s picking up Sucre in a car. He tells her that Linc bought a gun and he manages to slip the bomb under her car seat. She, meanwhile, tells him that she doesn’t buy his act for a second: she thinks that he and Linc are trying to set her up and threatens Maricruz (she now knows where Maricruz lives since Sucre sent the money from the check to her). Then she spazes out and tells him to go get her some real information.

Sammy now demands the combination from Lechero. Michael opens the door and Lechero is dragged inside. Sammy accuses Lechero of escaping with Michael and it sounds like he’s accusing Lechero of cheating on him. Michael offers Sammy the escape tunnel in exchange for a partnership, but Sammy’s having none of it. As Sammy reaches up into the tunnel we see that Michael has rigged it to collapse on him. When the minions are sufficiently distracted, the boys gain the upper hand.

Michael’s staring at Sammy, likely coming to the realization that he’s deliberately killed someone for the first time. The other boys go to make sure that there isn’t a sinkhole out in no-man’s land. And Lechero shows the rest of the prisoners that there has been a second coup and he’s back in charge.

Bellick insists to T-Bag that he’s in or he’ll blow the escape plan. T-Bag agrees.

Lincoln goes to pick up something and hands a paper bag to Sofia. He tells her “if he doesn’t take you, I will”. She opens the bag to find a little key chain of the Eifel Tower. He’s basically offered to take Sofia to Paris if Whistler doesn’t.

In his cell, Michael reveals that he deliberately set up Sammy to die (which was kind of obvious). McGrady approaches him and offers him all of his money if only Michael will let him in on the escape. Awe. That poor boy. Michael, unfortunately, tells him he wants no part of it.

At home, Sofia’s pinning for Whistler but slowly coming to the realization that she might have a crush on Lincoln. She starts clearing her closet of Whistler’s clothes and finds his bag. A search of it reveals a false bottom and a mysterious case.

Linc’s visiting Michael. He tells him about Whistler’s fake passport. Michael questions Whistler’s real job as Sofia pulls the mysterious case out of the bag.

We have to wait two more weeks for a new episode, folks. I’ll see you back here then….same bat time, same bat channel. Clarissa out.

Boxed In Recap for 1/14/2008

by Deana

When we last saw Michael, he was getting carted out of Sona. Lechero looks on worriedly as Michael gets taken away by General Zavala’s men. That’ll teach Lechero not to rely on any one person for a prison-escape plan. You gotta have a plan B, man!

Zavala takes Michael to his office and offers him a drink of water. Huh, this meeting is going better than I thought it would. He hasn’t even pistol-whipped Michael yet. Pistol-whipping is always a sign of bad things to come, so Michael’s day is looking up. Michael denies any involvement in the aborted helicopter escape attempt from earlier that day (or 2 months ago, in our time). Wentworth’s stubble is coming in again. I don’t like the stubble. It looks all weird and sharp. It bugs me.

Zavala quickly loses patience. He drags Michael back into the yard and throws him into the Sona version of solitary confinement: basically a cage wrapped in saran-wrap with the hot Panamanian sun shinning down on it. Michael sweats off about 3 1/2 pounds in two to three minutes. Seriously, PB people, I know that it’s a bother to continuously apply the whole Scofield full-torso tattoo, but do you know how bloody unlikely it is that Michael is wearing long-sleeves in Panama?

Lincoln’s leaving the hospital with Sofia, sporting a clean white bandage on his arm. Sofia can’t stop complaining about how Whistler is a sneaky liar of a boyfriend, but she still wants him out of Sona. Ah yes, the betrayed girlfriend routine. I know this one well. But when I play it, I don’t sound so whiney. She switches gears and thanks Lincoln for saving her ass.

Susan shows up and drags Lincoln away into a waiting car. She tells Sofia to buggar off.

Lang is delivering Mahone back to Sona. He seems strangely accepting of his fate. She presents him with a family heirloom/good luck charm. Awe, this scene brings a little tear to my eye. As Mahone is brought back into the prison, he sees Michael in the box.

Susan brings Lincoln to a small warehouse, where he’s allowed to visit with a bound and gagged LJ. LJ warns Lincoln that he’s always being followed and announces that he was in the room while Sara’s head was being cut off. Holy crap, do you have any idea how much that would traumatize me? I’m talking about years that I would spend rocking in a corner and mumbling nonsensically. LJ’s awfully composed considering what he’s been through. Lincoln promises that he and Michael will save LJ.

Whistler greets Mahone in the Sona courtyard and tells him that the plan is still a go. Whistler also says that they have a way to escape that doesn’t involve Michael. Bellick and T-Bag are strolling together, friendly as you please, discussing Michael’s current situation in the hot cage. Bellick accuses T-Bag of being involved in Michael’s escape plan, but T-Bag denies it.

One of Lechero’s friends comes by and demands that Bellick mop up some vomit. Bellick refuses. Methinks he’ll come to regret that later.

Michael’s hallucinating/sweating in the hot box. Sucre is met by his former business associate (who had him smuggle something into the prison) and agrees to help him again when he’s threatened with a gun. Arriving at work, Sucre offers to bring Michael some water. Michael and Sucre share a touching scene, reminiscent of their old buddy relationship. Michael wants Sucre to run away from the plan.

Down in the tunnel, Whistler and Lechero are attempting to dig up. That plan gets shot to hell when Lechero quickly concludes that they need Michael’s engineering skills.

Zavala offers Michael his assistance and finally finally admits that he’s been working on his escape since the moment he set foot in Sona. Which isn’t really true, but whatever. Zavala removes him from the cage.

Michael tells Zavala all about the Company, Whistler, LJ’s kidnapping….everything. Zavala offers to have his troops find LJ, but tells Michael he doesn’t believe the rest of the story.

Lincoln returns to the hotel and finds Sucre, who quickly admits that he ran drugs (or something) into the prison. Sucre tells Linc that Michael was placed in solitary.

T-Bag, ever the opportunist, starts chatting up Whistler, mentioning that Sammy doesn’t like Lechero’s new choice of friends (namely Michael and Whistler). T-Bag wonders if the world wouldn’t be a better place without Sammy. T-Bag offers to find someone to kill Sammy, but tells Whistler that if he does, he gets to be in the break-out club, Sona chapter. Awe, T-Bag just wants to make more friends. And possibly break out of prison to continue his murder spree.

Lincoln has changed out of his nice, clean, non-sweaty t-shirt into a dark blue, sweat-drenched shirt. Sucre tells him he can’t quit the drug mule job unless Lincoln throws him a few bucks. Lincoln tells him to go shove it up his ass. I bet Sucre’s wishing “why can’t I be teamed up with Michael again….the guy who wouldn’t leave me to drown in a stream….instead of his meany brother?” A Company informative, who’s been spying on Lincoln, calls Susan. I assume the Company will soon bribe Sucre with cash.

Zavala, who has been playing detective, tells Michael that maybe there’s some truth to his crazy tale after all. Zavala insists that Michael give up Whistler’s name in exchange for him finding LJ.

Sofia’s confronting Whistler at the visitor fence. As usual, he’s got an explanation for all of her accusations. Unfortunately, he gets dragged off to Zavala’s office.

Whistler denies Michael’s story when confronted by Zavala. Zavala doesn’t buy Whistler’s denials and insists on the name of the person in charge on the outside. When Whistler refuses to give up anything, a chair is brought into the room. But not just any chair. A torture chair. One that involves a bucket and a garden hose. Pfft, you don’t need the hose to drown someone and provoke them into talking, you just need the bucket. Maybe the hose is for strangling…. Why am I even questioning this? How sick am I?

T-Bag welcomes Mahone back to Sona. T-Bag quickly proposes that Mahone kill Sammy in exchange for a continuous supply of free drugs.

Whistler caves in about two seconds and under barely any torture at all (if you can consider Zavala yelling at him as torture). Wow, Whistler. Way to have a pair. He admits that he’s working with Michael, but denies that anyone else is involved. When he’s brought to Michael, Michael insists that Whistler give up Susan’s name. He even yells. Yelling Michael is always hot. Whistler, bowing to the mighty power of the Scofield yell, which is now apparently as powerful as the Scofield stare, quickly gives up Susan (aka Gretchen).

Susan approaches Sucre at a bar. She offers him $50,000 in exchange for Sucre keeping her updated on Lincoln. Sucre seems to be debating the offer. Sucre! Betraying Lincoln means betraying Michael. Remember that time he wouldn’t let you drown in that stream?! Remember?!

Zavala is asking Whistler for more information about Susan. Michael asks for a phone in order to get more information. He calls Linc to ask for his next meeting with Susan, which is to take place in an hour.

In the Sona courtyard, Sammy digs a mysterious package out of a box of veggies. Bellick, meanwhile, arrives at his cell to find a chicken foot. Apparently one of the other inmates isn’t happy that Bellick didn’t mop up some vomit. Haha, imagine if my boss started utilizing the chicken foot/fight to the death technique to get me and my fellow workers to behave? That would shake up the work environment.

Bellick wants to see Lechero to complain about the challenge, but Sammy dismisses him and announces that the fight will go on. Lechero isn’t pleased that Sammy issued the fight against Bellick and quickly realizes that Sammy is engaging in a power struggle with him for control of the prison.

Zavala gets a call about Susan and goes off to see her. Sucre arrives back at the hotel and….oh, you cute, cute man! Sucre smiles and tells Lincoln that their little set-up (getting Susan to offer Sucre money in exchange for info on Linc) worked. Bless those two. I love them.

Mahone’s going through more withdrawal (seriously, how long does withdrawal last?) and T-Bag arrives with drugs and taunts. Mahone refuses T-Bag’s bait.

Lincoln meets up with Susan and tells her that Whistler will be out by tomorrow. Zavala, meanwhile, arrives with guards and drags Susan away. Lincoln quickly protests that he has nothing to do with this.

Susan is taken to the torture chair and denies any involvement with Whistler. Zavala obviously doesn’t believe her and orders his men to “turn on the hose”.

The men inside the Sona courtyard are cheering for a fight while Bellick looks like he’s trying really hard not to pee his pants inside his cell. He goes outside to meet his fate.

Back in the torture room, Susan refuses to answer Zavala’s questions so he starts dry-drowning her. I just learned about this technique on last week’s episode of Law and Order: SVU. Saran-wrap is placed over her face and Zavala starts pouring water on her face. Outside the room, Whistler and Michael are listening to Gretchen’s torture. Zavala quickly concludes that Susan is a pro at surviving torture and calls the boys into the room.

Michael tells Zavala that Susan visited with Whistler. When Whistler gives her up, Susan says her only job is to look after LJ. She tells his (possibly real, possibly fake) location to Zavala. Michael asks Susan if she killed Sara and clearly doesn’t believe her denials. He chillingly tells her “I’m coming for you”. How does Wentworth Miller do it? How does he even make death threats hot? How?

Back in the courtyard Bellick is getting a beating, but quickly proves he’s not as stupid as he looks by slipping his opponent drugs, disorienting him and kicking his ass. T-Bag looks on in surprise and quickly realizes what Bellick did.

Zavala arrives at LJ’s former hiding place where Susan proceeds to kick his ass, kill the one (only one!) guard that Zavala brings with him, and shoot Zavala. *sigh* Then she calls Lincoln.

Sammy’s got a visitor, who’s obviously trying to get him to overthrow Lechero. The visitor wants Sammy to open the mysterious package from earlier.

Another army guy arrives to tell Michael and Whistler that Zavala was found dead. Michael doesn’t even flinch when he hears the news. I bet he has the best poker face in the world.

Michael asks Lechero for use of his phone and Lechero gives it up. Michael calls Linc, who’s not impressed that Michael planned to take out Susan without telling him.

Michael confronts Whistler and surmises that he only gave up Susan in order to get them both back inside Sona. Michael tells Whistler that the escape plan is going ahead, but Whistler better watch his back.

Sammy, meanwhile, opens up the mysterious package and finds a gun inside. He gets an evil little glint in his eye.

Not bad, not bad. With the strike still continuing, it’s nearly a miracle that we’ve got 4 more new episodes of the show to look forward to. Tune in next week for another new episode and another new recap. Until then….

New Spoilers for Upcoming Episodes

by Deana

7008784.jpgSpoilers for the episode airing on Monday, January, have hit the web, which means that viewers now have the chance to find out how things have unfolded since the last aired Prison Break installment.

So, without further ado, here are the spoilers for episode 3.09, “Boxed In.”

According to SpoilerFIX, Michael experiences solitary SONA style after he raises the suspicions of the Panamanian Army. He speaks to the SONA’s new commanding officer with the hopes of talking his way out of solitary confinement.

Meanwhile, Susan B. finds a way to keep Lincoln motivated. She comes face to face with Whistler and Michael, and makes Sucre (Amaury Nolasco) an offer he can’t refuse.

Also, Sucre heads to SONA to make another delivery, while Lang (guest star Barbara Eve Harris) has a parting gift for Mahone.

As for T-Bag, he approaches Whistler (Chris Vance) and makes him an offer. Bellick finds himself in a very sticky situation when he refuses to mop up a mess.

SpoilerFIX is also reporting Panamanian officials torture Whistler and Susan B. in order to get the two talking, and a mystery woman pays a visit to SONA with the aim of talking to Michael.

Now, if you have been diligently following every piece of news about Prison Break, then you would be aware of the spin-off series that the network is reportedly developing. Called Prison Break: Cherry Hill, the series is set in a woman’s prison and revolves around a woman named Molly.

How is the spin-off relevant to “Boxed In?” Well, the mystery woman that Michael meets in the episode may very well be Molly. According to E! Online’s Kristin Veich, producers said a new female character will be introduced in the current season’s ninth episode, and that the woman’s name is Molly Leif, an American housewife in her mid-30s who is in the middle of investigating the disappearance of her husband and daughter.

As per the Hollywood Reporter, Molly’s connection to the Lincoln Brothers is rooted in The Company. Apparently, the same organization that framed Michael and Lincoln is responsible for Molly’s family tragedy.

Season 3 Review

by Deana

Surely this has to go to Scofield’s sweat patch. Festooned upon his grey sweatshirt, the patch regularly fluctuates in size between scenes and has taken on a life of its own. Surely this soaking mass deserves its own agent and trade union? Perhaps it should join the writers and take strike action, given the lack of recognition it currently receives. Besides, if Lechero can smuggle phones and hookers into prison, can’t he manage one can of anti-perspirant deodorant for his new buddy?

Best New Character

Susan, without a shadow of a doubt. Possessing the power to make a man’s testes retract in fear, she’s a straight-talking mercenary who is not afraid to go through with her threats. She beheaded Sara Tancredi and was about to do the same to LJ before the young chump’s father called. Her back story is intriguing too, with flashbacks harking back to her time as a captive subjected to brutal rape and torture. It will be interesting to find out the true nature of her dealings with Whistler.

Best Moment

There’s a temptation here to give it to the moment Sara Tancredi’s head was discovered in a box. No, not because of the sheer dramatic impact of the moment, of which there was very little - particularly if you’ve seen a film called Se7en. Instead, it was because it finally drew a line under the character after the increasingly frustrating attempts to show us she was alive - using body doubles and stand ins. Sarah Wayne Callies wasn’t going to reprise the role, so the sooner Schofield’s love interest was dispatched the better, because she was dead wood.

However, the ending to episode six was such a jubilant moment when Schofield, learning of his loved one’s death, grabbed the crow’s foot and challenged Whistler to a fight to the death. A sudden twist and reversal of our expectations, it worked a treat - even though we knew there would be some contrived way out of it.

Worst Moment

Sofia pulling the gun on Lincoln Burrows on the beach. The twist had been so clearly signposted due to various shots of Sofia looking very devious and calculating in the scenes leading up to it. This killed any dramatic impact. Then, before you can scream “bring back John Abruzzi’, the pair were back on the same side again. What a pointless waste of time, just for a cheap thrill.

Most Redundant Plot Function

The character of Andrew Tyge entered Sona in the fifth episode, was given plenty of airtime and pointed out that he recognised Whistler under another guise. Then he was killed. Cheers for turning up dude. Bearing in mind that Whistler lived down a hole in the prison, communicated with his girlfriend via bird watching books and was wanted by The Company, we already had the impression that there might be more to him than meets the eye.

Most Underused Character

This is a three-way tie between Mahone, T-Bag and Brad Bellick. All three were so crucial to the enjoyment of the last season, with their own unique traits and pantomime villain status. But once ensconced within the walls of Sona, they all lost their potency and Prison Break failed to find any appealing supporting characters to rival them. Still, at least we could wallow in Bellick’s perpetual suffering.

The ‘Please, No More!’ Award

We’ve had enough shots of Michael Scofield brooding and/or sulking. It might have worked over the first two seasons, but it has become too tiresome now and seems to constitute about 27.4% of each episode. It seems that Wentworth Miller has gone down the Joey Tribbiani route of ‘sniff the fart’ acting.

Spin-off

by Deana

7008653.jpgIn the midst of the show’s third season, Fox ordered a script of a possible spin-off of the show, which is tentatively titled Prison Break: Cherry Hill. It is being written by Prison Break’s executive producer Matt Olmstead and co-executive producer Zack Estrin. The series will be set at a women’s prison and focuses on a character named Molly, who will be introduced in the third season of Prison Break.

This came from an article on Wikipedia. I am not sure I am ready for a spin-off. It just wont be the same. It is bad enough that writers had to go on strike and now we have to wait a month for PB to come back on, but a woman’s prison? I dont think so FOX!

No Prison Break Monday

by Deana

7008479.jpgWhat shall we do now that PB is on its crazy hiatus? I dont understand why they wait till January to come back on? Why cant they just run a normal 16 week season like most other shows. I think the way they are doing it may in fact lose PB alot of viewers. Many shows like Lost start mid season (January) and Lost has a huge fan base. So I think that since people have to wait for 2 months, they lose interest and start watching another show or just dont go back to PB. I dont know…this is just my theory. What do you guys think??

Mondays Recap

by Deana

McGrady’s all dressed up. His dad is coming today. He asks Michael if he looks okay.

Michael heads to the fence to meet with Lincoln. Lincoln says that LJ is alive. He has three days. Michael doesn’t seem to care… Lincoln tells Michael that there were three body bags at the drop-off point - that they wouldn’t have gotten out of there alive. Michael tells Lincoln that he cares about LJ and would do anything for him, but obviously Lincoln thinks Michael only cares about himself. “You used me Linc, so I guess you and the company have something in common.” Michael walks away.

Susan B. is on the phone. She says she can’t find him. Never mind, she found him. It’s Pad Man. “It’s time to clean this up. We’re ending this today. Bang and Burn.” Susan looks taken back. She says it’s next to impossible for this time frame. He says maybe he hired the wrong person. She responds with telling him to “seriously reconsider.” His guys attack her, push her down to the bed. Further threats follow.

Everyone Knows About Bang and Burn!

Susan B. talks to Whistler, telling him that they’re going with the “Bang and Burn”. “That’s suicide,” he says. “I might get killed if we do this.” Susan B. says that she might get killed if they don’t. “Be ready by 5:00,” she tells him. “What about Scofield?” he asks. “Kill him,” she replies.

Whistler’s in the courtyard, not looking so good. Lechero approaches Michael. Michael asks Lechero to speak with the Colonel about halting the guards working on the windows… Sammy walks up and tells Lechero that some of the people are acting out. They’re losing Sona.

Susan B. unrolls some plans and bosses people around.

Whistler’s Double Life

Sofia reads the front page of the newspaper, which talks about an attempted escape. The phone rings. Someone is looking for Whistler. “I am his wife,” she says. It’s Tommy Day, the landlord of the apartment that James Whistler rents from. When Sofia responds telling him that he must be mistaken he says, “Oh I assure you, Mr. Whistler is my tenant.” He says that some mail has been coming to the apartment and gives her the address. Someone is listening in. He calls Susan B. with the info.

Whistler reads the bird book. There are notes in the margin. “Mahone, Special Ops, Company? Drugs? Familiy +” Whistler burns the page.

Michael walks in and tells Whistler that the Company is giving them four more days. Whistler looks down on the floor and Michael asks him if he has anything on his mind, like visitation maybe? “What you’re a spy now?” Whistler asks. He says that she’s Company and that she approached him after the failed escape. Whistler meets with another guy in the prison and accepts a wrapped package. “You never met me,” he says before walking away.

Mahone Melts Down

In the hotel room Mahone talks about Shale to Agent Lang. He says after catching Shale, he couldn’t hand him over to a scumbag lawyer who would get him off. So he killed him. And it felt good. But then the visions came of Shale begging for his life. Mahone couldn’t get rid of them so he started taking drugs to keep on even keel. But at Sona he had to improvise. He says he can’t testify like this…

The guards continue soldering the windows. T-Bag approaches Michael with a note. It’s a sketch of Lechero’s quarters. There’s a note at the top. 4:00. 4413. Whistler unwraps his package. It’s a knife.

Sofia walks into the apartment. Tommy Day leaves her alone as he goes to get Whistler’s insurance papers. Sofia sits on the bed and looks around. She starts going through the drawers, empties envelopes.

Whistler Threatens…

Michael follows the plans and notices there’s a door in the quarters. It’s locked with a keycode. He unlocks it and they walk down the hallway. Whistler starts playing with the knife behind his back. He flashbacks to Susan B. telling him to kill Michael. Whistler says, “I’m truly sorry you got caught up in my troubles Michael.”

Just as Whistler pulls the knife they hear a noise in the hallway. “Scofield,” Lechero says as he walks in. He enters in another code and they walk further into the underground tunnels. The guards filled it in. Lechero thinks they can dig out. Michael says they can’t dig out, but they can maybe dig up.

Sofia finds an ID of Whistler with another name. Susan B. walks in. “Hello Sofia,” she says before saying taht she’s an old friend. She shoves Sofia up against the wall. “I can see why James loves you. You’re very beautiful.” Then she says to stop sticking her nose where it doesn’t belong or James will start missing her. She says that Sofia should go home, paint her nails, and get ready for James to come home so they can live happily ever after. “You are truly beautiful,” Susan B. says, runnign her hands through her hair. “I hope you can stay that way … Now get out of here.” Sofia leaves and Susan B. goes through the apartment.

Michael thinks they can either dig up or get buried alive. As they begin walking out Sammy heads into the tunnels. Lechero argues with him and leads him back up the stairs. Michael and Whistler hide to the side. They then sneak back into the tunnels without Lechero knowing. Whistler stashes the knife.

Mahone asks for Agent Lang but she is gone. The other agent tells Mahone that they need to go. Mahone wants to wait but the agent says to throw some water on his face.

Whistler starts sweating and has the shakes. Michael asks if he is okay but Whistler says he is claustrophobic and needs some air. Whistler says he needs to get out. Michael asks what is really going on and why does Whistler keep looking at his watch?

Lincoln and Sucre get the keys to a shack. They take a walk through the woods. Lincoln shoots a gun and Sucre records the sound.

Visitations

Michael approaches McGrady and asks for help. McGrady says that his father just arrived. Michael says that he needs his dad to make a phone call to someone on the outside. McGrady says that he won’t do it - he won’t put his father in jeopardy. Michael begs him and says that if he doesn’t do it, something bad will happen to his father. McGrady’s father says he looks good, that he should be in school. McGrady tells his father that his new American friends needs some help…

As they are talking Sofia walks up to the fence. Whistler steps up and says he’s glad she is there. He tells Sofia that she may not be safe. “Promise me you won’t be anywhere around Lincoln Burrows today,” Whistler says. He tells her to go home and stay there, that he’ll call her tonight. “Call me?” she asks. Whistler asks her repeatedly if she understands and asks her to promise him. She promises. “I love you, more than anything in the world,” Whistler says. “Do you?” Sofia says. She tells him about the landlord calling and asks if she should return his phone call. “Must be the wrong number,” Whistler says. He tells her again to stay away from Lincoln and she walks away.

Attacked
McGrady’s father calls Lincoln and says he has a message. “Don’t come home for dinner.” Lincoln hangs up and tells Sucre it’s a code from Michael. Sofia approaches Lincoln and Sucre. One of the goons is watching them and calls Susan B. She tells him to take them all out, that she warned Sofia.

Sofia tells Lincoln that she doesn’t know what’s going on and that Whistler told her to stay away. Lincoln calls Lechero’s cell phone. Sammy picks up. Lincoln asks to speak to Michael. Sammy hangs up. He turns to Lechero. Lechero says it’s his business.

Some of Sofia’s guys follow Lincoln, Sucre, and Sofia. Sucre and Linc overwhelm two of them but one guy holds Sofia around the neck. Lincoln shoots him right through the head. Ouch!

At the hearing Mahone keeps itching his wrist. The investigation begins and starts talking about the Company. He says that he was told to kill them all. He begins rambling and sounds slightly insane. He says he did what he did to protect his family and that he wants to go home.

T-Bag finds Michael and drags him off to see Lechero. “If your brother should ever call my cell phone again, tell him you’re the one who is going to pay,” he says before handing Michael the phone. Lincoln tells him that they just got attacked and that Sofia was warned not to be around them. “They don’t need us anymore, they’re breaking him out on their own,” Michael says with panic in his eyes.

Mission Aborted

A helicopter flies over the prison. Whistler climbs out on the room and begins waving his arms. Guards begin driving up and the helicopter begins firing. Michael climbs out on the room after him and the two begin fighting. Several guards are gunned down as the helicopter lowers a rope. Whistler grabs on and Michael grabs Whistler around the waist. They dangle over the courtyard. The guards shoot one of the men in the helicopter and he falls to the ground. They lose Whistler. “Abort, abort.” Whistler drops into the hallway and removes his shirt. Michael climbs down as well. Men are running everywhere. Michael changes his shirt. A guard grabs him by the shoulder and drags him to the courtyard.

Susan B. sits in her hotel room as the phone rings. She ignores it and takes a sip of her drink.

Mahone sits in the hallway. Agent Lang sits down beside him. “I’m so sorry, I’m going to have to take you back to Sona,” she says.

Michael is told to get up. The Colonel tells him that he is causing too many problems in Sona, so maybe he shouldn’t be there. “Say good-bye to Sona Mr. Scofield,” he says and leads Michael away.

Fox Reshuffles the Post-Strike Deck

by Deana

160×120_prisonbreak_crew_s02_paulscheuring.jpgAs if the implications of the writers’ strike weren’t already giving us migraines, along comes Fox to make our heads explode with its latest incomprehensible schedule announcement, covering the strike-impacted midseason from January to April (consider most everything you read from here on subject to change). The first piece of bad news was expected: The seventh season of 24 is being postponed indefinitely, until Fox can ensure the entire season can run intact and uninterrupted. Who knows when that will be? Another blow: Fox is finally living up to its threat to move Bones to Fridays, effective January 4, where it will be paired with repeats of House (the Fox equivalent of Law & Order, considering how often the hit medical drama will be peppered throughout the network’s new and unimproved lineup).

Monday. With 24 out of the picture, the new big-ticket midseason item is now the action-packed Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, which kicks off on Sunday, January 13, before moving into its regular 9 pm/ET slot on Mondays on January 14. Prison Break, which has moved up its fall finale to next Monday, will return in its regular position on January 14, where it is scheduled to air through February. On March 3, a ghastly sounding war-of-the-sexes reality show, When Women Rule the World, takes over Prison Break’s slot. On March 10, House encores take over for Terminator, which apparently will have already completed its midseason tryout.

Last Night’s recap

by Deana

8415566.jpgMichael’s making friends with Mexican Martin, who is apparently named Tyge. Well, call me egotistical, but I think Mexican Martin is a waaaay better name than Tyge, and Brittany (one of our readers) agrees that he reminds her of Martin Short as well, so Tyge shall be called Mexican Martin for as long as he remains on the show. Michael’s trying to figure out whether Mexican Martin really knows Whistler. Mexican Martin swears that Whistler worked at the Ambassador Hotel in Nice. Michael wants more details, but Mexican Martin wants to know why.

Cut to Michael, Whistler and Mahone planning in a cell. The boys plan on departing Sona and all its glorious amenities at 3:13 p.m. and Michael wants a ladder.

Mahone is concerned about Mexican Martin’s interest in Whistler and worries it might screw up the plan, what with Mexican Martin constantly eyeballing Whistler. Just a shot in the dark here, but maybe Mexican Martin thinks Whistler is hot.

Bellick wants to “roll bones” with Mexican Martin in his cell and Martin jumps to the worst possible conclusion: assuming that Bellick is hitting on him because he’s shirtless. No offence, Martin, but there are at least 3 other guys hotter than you that Bellick could hit on. And that’s the principal cast alone. I’m not even really paying attention to all the extras milling around. Bellick’s affronted that Martin doesn’t want to be his friend, especially after he gave him food and a place to sleep. Martin embarrasses Bellick by turning him down and sends him on his way.

Michael and Linc are plotting at the fence. Michael announces that he’s already taken care of one of the guards and needs Linc’s help with the other. Linc’s all pissed off because Michael is only giving him three hours to locate the guard and slip something into his drink. Seriously, does Lincoln ever stop bitching and just follow Michael’s plan? Honestly, Linc, shut the hell up and do what the guy says. It’s not like YOU are the one breaking out this time.

Michael reveals that the Company thinks the breakout is taking place at 9:00 p.m. tonight and they’re not telling them about the earlier plan so they can survey the transfer site. We learn that Lincoln’s gotten his hands on a gun but tells Michael he can’t get pictures of LJ and Sara. Michael, all glowery and whispery, insists that he wants photos by 2:30 p.m. or the escape’s off. Do you think that Wentworth Miller suffers from throat soreness after all the whispering he does on this show? My best friend is an opera singer and she always warns me that whispering is harder on your vocal cords. If only Wentworth would agree to marry me, then I could warn him of the dangers of the Scofield Whisper.

Susan’s bringing LJ some food. And for extremely weird reason she feels it appropriate to wear only a man’s shirt for their little meeting. She tells LJ about a time she got captured while serving in Mosul. The point of this story is to warn LJ of acting up during the hostage exchange that evening.

Sammy is still pissed off by T-Bag’s inclusion in their little group and Lechero tells Sammy to back off. Lechero warns T-Bag that he’s got to keep up on the spying gig.

Linc rushes back to Sofia and Sucre to tell them of the need to track down the tower guard and take him out.

In Sona, Michael overhears Sammy talking with another of Lechero’s henchmen. Michael manages to grab a knife and escape into another room.

Mahone’s visited by Agent Lang (his old partner from season 2). Lang reveals that Mahone can be transferred to a prison in the US in exchange for Mahone’s testimony against the government regarding the conspiracy. Lang offers Mahone only 8 years of prison, but he turns her down. Mahone’s obviously keener on Michael’s escape plan. You gotta understand the guy’s reasoning: Michael’s got a proven track record of breaking out of prison, while the government doesn’t always keep its word.

Whistler and Michael are stringing together some kind of rope ladder inside a cell. Whistler hands Michael a note for Sofia. The boys are joined by Mahone and Michael reveals that he’s found another cell to get them into no-man’s land. Obviously, in the interest of creating constant conflict on this show, the cell in question is currently being occupied by three of Lechero’s henchmen. Oh yes, I see where this is going. Do you, dear readers?

Mexican Martin, who looks dead, is being carried out into the courtyard. Is this the end of Mexican Martin? I barely knew him! Lechero is pissed that people have abandoned his chicken foot fight club in the interests of more unregulated violence. No one volunteers information, however. Instead, Lechero convenes a meeting with McGrady. Lechero thinks that McGrady might know what happened to Mexican Martin, since he’s always playing basketball around where the body was found. I’m so upset about Mexican Martin’s death. McGrady reveals that he did see someone go into the stairwell where Martin’s body was found and overheard an argument.

Michael confronts Mahone about the possibility that he might have killed Mexican Martin, but Mahone brushes him off. In the meantime, Lechero’s henchmen drag off Whistler, obviously believing that he did away with Martin. Michael looks like he wants to cry. Poor baby, how many times have his carefully-laid plans been frustrated by unforeseen circumstances?

Michael’s very pissed off and accuses Mahone of killing Mexican Martin. He’s determined to find the real killer so he can save Whistler. Mahone couldn’t care less if Whistler’s escaping with them.

Whistler’s protesting his innocence in front of Lechero while T-Bag commits petty thievery by lifting a ring from a table. Whistler wants to know why Lechero is rushing to judge him and tries to talk his way out of the room. Unfortunately, Lechero’s not stupid and insists that Whistler remain.

Bellick’s playing dice all by his lonesome in his cell. Awe, I feel bad for him. He’s like that weird outcast kid who’s got no friends. Michael approaches and accuses Bellick of murder. This episode is like one big game of Clue: “It was Whistler, in the stairwell, with the knife!”. “No, no, it was Bellick in the corridor with the candlestick!”. There’s a movie called Clue that’s based on the board game, and it’s absolutely hilarious. I highly recommend you people check it out. Bellick reveals that he’s just a giant softy, who’s not really capable of murder.

Susan’s giving Lincoln a sedative to help out with the guard and she tells him she knows Sofia is helping him out. She’s also not pleased that Lincoln didn’t tell her himself. Linc asks for a photo of Sara and Susan quickly catches on that Linc has neglected to tell Michael that he and Sara won’t be going on that date….or any date for that matter. You know, ever. She agrees to come up with a photo to help convince Michael.

Sucre and Lincoln are checking out the guards and Sucre tries to identify the one they need to drug. The guards drag off Sucre to help with Mexican Martin’s dead body (*sob*) and Linc’s big plan to give the guard (Hurtado) the drugged coffee backfires. Sofia quickly steps in, unbuttons her blouse, and convinces Hurtado to give her a ride out to Sona. God knows I always unbutton a few buttons when I need to distract men and help facilitate a prison breakout. I did that just last week, as a matter of fact.

Back in Sona, T-Bag is taunting Michael about the imminent death of Whistler. T-Bag offers up Sammy as a scapegoat and tells Michael to plant the ring T-Bag lifted earlier at the scene of the crime. Michael looks conflicted. Seriously, I like to think of myself as a moral person, but if I had a deadline to break out of prison to save the people I love, I think I would be planting that ring. Hrm….I wonder if the Law Society is going to disbar me for admitting that.

My cousin Joe just left a message on my phone. He thinks that Sara might not be dead. Joe’s obviously an idiot. It’s a good thing he just married into the family, instead of being my blood cousin. Otherwise I might feel very embarrassed for being related to him.

Michael’s pondering the morality of his actions while Whistler’s still trying to convince Lechero that he’s innocent.

Hurtado’s flirting with Sofia while Linc trails them in his own car. Hurtado parks the car and offers Sofia “special” visitation rights inside Sona if Sofia will “do him”. Linc grabs his gun and exits his car, seeing Hurtado come on to Sofia. Susan calls with news that she has a photo and Linc tells her to meet him at Sona. Sofia, who is a lot cleverer than she looks (is cleverer a word?) lies to Hurtado that she’s one of Lechero’s girls and he immediately backs off. She also manages to switch the coffee cups when he’s not looking. We also learn that Lechero’s name is really Norman St. John. Meanwhile, Linc stupidly reveals to Susan that they’re drugging the guard now and she realizes that he lied about the escape time.

Michael goes in search of Alex, hoping to solve his moral dilemma. Instead, he finds a knife covered in blood. Michael confronts Mahone with the knife while Mahone denies any involvement, but Michael is determined to show the knife to Lechero.

Susan storms into LJ’s room and lies a tarp down on the ground. LJ quickly catches on that Linc screwed up and starts begging for his life. Susan’s phone rings just in the nick of time and Linc is apologizing profusely. Linc tells Susan the real escape time and she hangs up.

Sullins (Mahone’s old FBI boss) is visiting Mahone. Sullins reveals that he’s bargained Mahone’s sentence down to 4 years in a US prison and tells Mahone he must appear before a special prosecutor.

Michael hands Lechero the bloody knife and names Mahone as the murderer.

Mahone, meanwhile, is swaggering his way out of Sona, with Lechero and Michael watching. Lechero tells one of his henchmen to get Whistler ready. Probably to die.

Michael calls Lechero a “dictator” and begs for Whistler’s life. Lechero stabs one of his henchmen instead and reveals that he picked up a cigar from the barrel with the corn husks earlier, the same cigar that his henchmen took from Sammy earlier in the episode. Obviously Lechero believes his henchman killed Mexican Martin.

Sucre’s at the Sona fence, spraying the body and the fence. Oh, Sucre, I wish you had more face time. I love you so. Susan meets with Linc outside Sona. Linc is upset that she brought him the same picture of Sara as the previous one he gave to Michael, but Susan cares not for his bitching and moaning.

In the Sona courtyard, Lechero’s henchman is strung up in a very “Jesus on the cross” type of pose. Lechero reveals that the soccer game is cancelled (oy, now Michael has no distraction for the escape) and questions Sammy’s loyalty.

At the visiting fence, Linc reveals that The Company has gotten wind of the real escape time. Michael is convinced that Sara and LJ will remain safe as long as The Company needs Whistler. Michael is obviously not aware that Sara is now about a foot and a half shorter. Linc tries to convince Michael that they do not have the upper hand here and Michael wants to see the photos.

Lincoln finally tells Michael the truth about Sara. Lincoln begs him to follow through on the plan in order to save LJ, but Michael just walks away in a daze. Back in Sona, Michael sobs his bleeding heart out. Wow, that’s the most emotion we’ve seen out of Wentworth Miller in the last 2 years. My poor Wentworth.

Michael tells Whistler about Sara’s death and blames Whistler for it. Michael is brandishing the chicken foot and throws down in front of Whistler.

Prison Break: Lane Garrison Gets 40 Months in Jail

by Deana

11371018.jpgFormer Prison Break cast member Lane Garrison was sentenced yesterday to 40 months in prison, stemming from a drunk driving episode last December that resulted in the death of a teenage passenger. Although Garrison’s legal team was pushing for Garrison to be released on probation, the judge handed out his 40-month sentence with no complaints from Garrison’s legal team. They have no plans to appeal the sentence.

On Saturday, December 2, Lane Garrison left a party with two 15-year old passengers and one 17-year old, a student at Beverly Hills High named Vahagn Setian. They passengers had been driving around Beverly Hills, looking to buy alcohol. They eventually did, but soon after Garrison lost control of his SUV and jumped the curb, hitting a tree. Setian was killed in the accident. Garrison was later found to have a blood alcohol level of .20, almost three times the legal limit. He also tested positive for cocaine.

Garrison could have been sentenced to over six years in prison, but Judge Elden Fox didn’t think that was unnecessary. Addressing the court, Fox told Garrison, “I think you are ultimately a decent human being who made a very bad mistake…[and] that crime resulted in the devastation to at least three different families.”

Garrison may actually only serve around 20 months in prison. He will get credit for 90 days which he’s already spent in behind bars, and will likely get a few months knocked off for good behavior. This was obviously a tragic situation, and one that deserves justice, so it’s nice to see a Hollywood actor actually spend some significant time in jail. Interpreting the words of Garrison’s lawyers, it seemed that they did not want to fight the charges or the sentence and that Garrison was truly and deeply remorseful and wanted to serve his time with dignity.

Episode Recap

by Deana

williamfichtner.jpgFinally a night-time shot of Sona. Michael’s in his cell, feeding a rat out on the grounds. I hate rats. Seriously. Ew. It looks like Michael’s trying to figure out whether the guards sleep on the job at night. The answer? They do not. But they do shoot rats. Michael looks disturbed. Perhaps he joined PETA pre-Fox River.

Mahone, meanwhile, is picking up dirty cups from the ground. Oh, Sona doesn’t exactly look like a disorganized hell-hole, but if all the men drink from dirty cups they picked up off the ground then that place is crawling with bacterial infection. Mahone wants an update on the breakout plan but Michael, who’s finally learned to stand up for himself after two seasons of prison, running and then prison again, tells him to back away.

A new prisoner enters Sona. Is it just me, or does the new prisoner look like the Mexican version of Martin Short? I’m going to call him Mexican Martin until I find out his real name. Sammy (one of Lechero’s flunkies) gives Mexican Martin a friendly Sona welcome.

Linc is visiting Michael and Michael isn’t impressed that Lincoln gave up Whistler’s bird book to Susan. Lincoln continues to lie about Sara’s currently headless predicament. Michael announces that he’s going to be breaking out in the middle of the afternoon tomorrow. Ohhhh, I can tell this isn’t going to end well.

Mexican Martin awakens from his beating to find that he’s been stripped of all of his nice clothes. He also seems to recognize Whistler. I hope Mexican Martin turns out to be as funny as the real Martin Short.

Michael’s asking McGrady for a watch and binoculars. In order to procure the binoculars, Michael’s going to have to do some light thievery. Michael then explains the escape plan to Whistler. He also uses some chalk to draw a diagram of the escape plan on the floor. No, seriously. HE DRAWS THE ESCAPE PLAN ON THE FLOOR. Just in case any other prisoners might be interested in breaking out of Sona. *sigh* Michael, I get that you’re some kind of a genius, but seriously, have you learned nothing from the last two years? You’re leaving around too many clues. Whistler doesn’t seem too confident in Michael’s plan, which also includes using a soccer game as cover.

Lincoln and Sofia are bickering like an old married couple who don’t routinely break people out of prisons back at Lincoln’s hotel room. Susan calls and reminds Linc of the timeline. Susan’s making some notes on a piece of paper and she’s writing down times. I have no idea what this means. Susan reminds him that they’ve got 34 hours to break Whistler out.

Sucre’s cruising down the streets when he’s approached by some strange men in a black SUV. These men want Sucre to smuggle something into Sona and offer him money in return. Oh Sucre, are you going to become a drug mule? Is this what you’ve been reduced to? Yes, it is, because Sucre takes the package.

Bellick’s befriending Mexican Martin. He’s giving Mexican Martin a warning on how not to be a pompous ass and make enemies of everyone in Sona.

Michael and Whistler are prompting gay rumors galore by hanging a sheet in Michael’s cell so people can’t watch them spying on the guards, much like Sucre and Michael used to do in Fox River when Michael went into the walls. I wonder if Michael misses having Sucre for a cellmate. I know I miss Sucre being in on the action. We see that Michael has split the binoculars into two pieces, so both he and Whistler can spy on the guards. Michael also tells Whistler that Mahone’s in on the plan now, for reals.

Nun McHoochie, meanwhile, pays Lechero a visit.

Whistler and Mahone are spying on a guard when Whistler notices that the sun does blind the guard around 3:12 p.m. Mahone leaves to check on Michael and notices that Mexican Martin seems suspicious. Whistler’s describing the guard to Michael and Michael has an idea for distracting another guard, which includes disrupting his TV signal. Now that’s just mean. We also see that Mexican Martin was spying on the boys. I’m so disappointed. Mexican Martin hasn’t been even remotely funny yet. Mahone confronts Mexican Martin, trying to act all tough, and scare him off.

Linc and Sofia are taking a nice drive through the jungle. Their drive is cut short by the police who claim that they’re driving on a private road and make the unfortunate announcement that every road around Sona for 2 miles is closed. Oy, Michael is gonna be sooooo pissed. The cops let them off with a warning. Linc shows that he’s smarter than he looks and starts to come up with a Plan B.

Michael, meanwhile, is acting like a thief again, only this time he’s lifting a microwave. Unfortunately, he’s not a very good thief and the microwave has to remain for now.

Lincoln purchases some mysterious “supplies” in a blue cooler and tells Sofia they’re going to a beach.

Nun McHoochie tells Lechero that Augusto (Lechero’s cousin, maybe?) isnt paying for Nun McHoochie’s services anymore. Lechero isn’t interested in paying for sex. But apparently he’s ok with having sex with hookers.

Sucre, the new drug mule, hides the mysterious package in with the food headed for Sona.

Whistler’s afraid that The Company is going to kill him when he gets out, or hands over whatever information it is that they want. Michael tells Whistler that their friendship ends the moment they’re over that wall and he really doesn’t care what happens to Whistler after that. I don’t blame, Michael. Look at what happened to all those other guys he befriended during the Fox River escape. Most of them ended up dead.

We see that the mysterious package has arrived in Sona, but no one seems to notice. T-Bag, meanwhile, continues in his roll of drug-pusher and tries to sell some stuff to Mahone. Sammy retrieves the mysterious package from the crate of food.

Michael and Whistler have managed to successfully steal the microwave while Mahone is tripping out on some drugs. While he’s staring dreamily out of the window he seems to notice something important and takes out his paper cup that he found earlier on the floor.

Michael’s giving Whistler a lesson on EMPs (electromagnetic pulse). Did you guys know that nuclear weapons also contain EMPs? So in addition to people dying horrible deaths, those bombs will also knock out all of the electrical power and machines. Just a little something I know. Looks like Michael is going to use the microwave as an EMP to knock out the TV in the guard tower. And it totally works. Michael’s binocular lens obviously gives off some sort of glare because when he turns back to look at the guard, the man is aiming a rifle at him and shoots.

Pandemonium erupts in Sona with word that the guards are coming in. Lechero orders T-Bag to protect Nun McHoochie and the two of them go off running. The rest of the prisoners assemble in the main quad on their knees. The colonel comes in, telling Lechero that the guard believes he saw a rifle pointed at him (which was just Michael’s binocular).

Linc and Sofia are taking a walk on the beach now. The two of them start digging in the sand. No, scratch that. Sofia takes a seat to sun herself while Linc is digging. Wow, she’s just like me. I too believe that all the heavy lifting and digging should be done by men. We have the babies, it’s a fair trade.

T-Bag is trying to reassure Nun McHoochie about her place is Lechero’s heart and the two narrowly avoid being detected by the guards who are searching the prison. The guards find Michael’s binocular and put a chain and lock to close up Michael’s cell. The guards start beating up guys to find out whose cell it is and Michael finally admits it’s his. Michael takes a beating and the guard aims at gun at his head, demanding to know why Michael was watching him.

The guard starts counting down from five in Spanish and Whistler speaks up, saying the binocular lens is his. He says that he was using the lens to watch birds and takes out the bird book to prove it. The guards buy this story and file out.

Michael runs back to his cell and is very upset to find it locked up. He starts desperately grabbing for the microwave that’s locked inside but can’t reach it.

Lechero goes back to retrieve Nun McHoochie, who’s in a rush to leave. We see that she’s lifted money from Lechero, but T-Bag steps in and says he gave her the money. Lechero doesn’t appreciate T-Bag’s interference and smacks him one good.

Whistler’s badgering Michael about the modified plan, but Michael wants to be alone with his genius brain to come up with Plan…what? C? F? M? How many plans has he had so far?

Lincoln shows Sofia what he bought at the dive shot earlier. Whatever it is, it’s their “getaway vehicle”, which Linc buries in the sand. I’m assuming its diving masks or something and they’re going to escape by going underwater. When they re-enter the jungle to leave the beach we see that they’re very close to Sona.

The drug guy pays Sucre, but thinks that since Sucre muled for him once, he’ll mule for him twice (and maybe more). Sucre starts to regret his decisions, but takes another package.

Mexican Martin approaches Whistler and says that he recognizes him from Nice, France in 1997. Whistler denies knowing him, but Mexican Martin says that Whistler was with an ambassador. Michael and Mahone look at Whistler suspiciously, but their need for a new plan gets in the way.

Mahone reveals what he noticed in his drug-induced haze: that the guard was drinking from the cup Mahone later found on the floor. The boys decide to go after the cup to get to the guard.

Recap from last night

by Deana

160×120_prisonbreak_crew_s02_paulscheuring.jpgEpisode 305 “Interference”
Airdate: 10/22/2007
Linc visits Michael; the escape deadline is tomorrow. Linc needs to arrange a getaway vehicle for 3pm – the only way to avoid the military jeeps is to be able to see them, so they need to escape in broad daylight.

A new inmate, Andrew Tyge, sees Michael and Whistler talking. He recognizes one of them. Michael asks McGrady for a watch and binoculars. Michael outlines his escape plan to Whistler; but first, he needs to get to know the guards better to find out their weaknesses. Whistler’s cell overlooks the other guard’s tower; Michael asks him to observe him all day, and gives him one half of the binoculars.

An impatient Susan is looking at a blueprint of a large building and labeling it with numbered post-its – steps in a plan?

Sucre is approached by Lechero’s cousin, Augusto – he had an arrangement with the previous gravedigger to smuggle things into Sona. He’ll give Sucre $5000 to do this just once. Sucre agrees.

Whistler finds that there’s a time of day when there’s a blind spot for the guard for six minutes. Michael has found that the other guard occasionally adjusts his TV when there’s interference – and he can build a transmitter to help jam his signal. Tyge is spying; Michael almost catches him, but not quite. However, Mahone has seen Tyge, and tells him to mind his own business.

Lincoln and Sofia try to take an off-road, but it’s a private government road and they’re stopped and bullied by the police, though Sofia talks them out of any trouble. The officer says he’ll remember Linc, though.

After having sex with Lechero, Sister Mary Francis says that Augusto won’t pay for her any more. Lechero won’t pay either – he won’t pay for sex. She’s desperate and broke, but Lechero’s offended.

As T-Bag continues to provide Mahone with drugs, Sammy picks up the package that Sucre has smuggled in. Michael steals the microwave of a particularly tough inmate. He uses it to finish his jamming device. It works – but the guard suddenly takes aim at Michael’s cell and sprays the window with bullets. An alarm blares. Colonel Escamilla and his men enter the prison – a guard reported seeing a rifle scope, and he’s not leaving until he finds the rifle. Sister Mary Francis can’t be found by the soldiers; T-Bag hides her and promises to keep her safe. He seems to have a genuine affection for her.

Susan gets a call from General Pad Man, who is behind her kidnapping and blackmail attempts – and calls her Gretchen. She’s freelance, but he’ll hold her accountable if their plan goes wrong.

The monoscope is found in Michael’s cell. The guard, Hurtado, demands to know why Michael was watching him. Whistler steps up and says the scope is actually his, and he wasn’t watching the guard, he was watching birds. He shows the bird book as proof that he’s a birdwatcher. The General is mollified.

Lechero returns to his cell – to find that Mary tried to steal $30 from his unguarded cashbox. T-Bag steps up and claims he gave the money to her and planned to replace it by the end of the day. Lechero is angry, and roughs T-Bag up, but Mary is out of trouble for now.

Linc buys some supplies at a dive shop, and then goes with Sofia to the beach, not far from the prison gates, where he buries four small scuba tanks. A getaway for himself, Michael, Sofia and Whistler. International waters are 12 miles off the coast. Linc and Sofia start to trust each other.

Augusto pays Sucre for his delivery – and asks him to make another. Sucre resists, but ultimately gives in.

Michael is locked out of his cell, all his belongings inside; his plans are ruined. But Mahone has noticed something else from his own cell – Hurtado has a coffee fix. They and Whistler run into Tyge – who is sure he knows Whistler. He calls him McFadden and says he was in Nice, in 1997, with the Ambassador. Whistler insists Tyge’s insane, he’s just a fisherman. Neither Michael nor Mahone believe him. But Mahone doesn’t care – he just wants to get out.
